Rearcross travelled to Murroe for this pre-season friendly and played out an entertaining encounter before finishing on the wrong end of a 4-2 score line. The visitors missing a number of regulars on this occasion fielded a bare eleven and made a lively start coming close thirteen minutes in when Grace O'Toole fired against the crossbar, Rearcross kept pressing and hit the front three minutes later when Grace O'Toole broke through the centre and fired low between the posts. Rearcross keeper Cathal Kennedy was in the action at the other end with a clean catch minutes later, Rearcross might have further extended their lead with efforts from Cillian Kennedy and Patrick Dawson. Murroe pegged a goal back two minutes before the break when Jamie Cummins kept his cool to slot the ball home from in front of goals. Murroe dominated for long spells of the second half and went ahead through Jay Ryan five minutes after the restart. An in form Jay Ryan added two more to complete the rout for the home side while Patrick Dawson bagged a second for Rearcross with a long range effort following good support play from Brian Nolan. A worthwhile outing for a Rearcross side that will now focus on the start of the NTSFL campaign, thanks to Murroe AFC for accommodating the game.
